The Story of Happy Tails
Home Boarding Retreat
Ever since I begged my parents for my first cat at the age of 4, I have always loved caring for animals including my own dogs and cats, during volunteer work at multiple animal shelters, an urban farm, and greyhound kennels.
In 2008, after recovering from illness that sidelined me from my first (very different) career path, I started a dog walking business in St. Catharines as a temporary, part time venture with my sidekick West Highland Terrier, Monty. Temporary and part-time turned in to permanent full-time, and I never looked back.
Monty and I built Happy Tails walking all kinds of dogs and meeting lots of great dog owners.
We lost our boy Monty way too early to kidney disease at age 11 a few years back and we miss him very much every day.

Over the past 15 years Happy Tails has gone from a full time dog walking and cat care service, to all breed boarding and daycare, and now to boarding small and medium sized breeds in a small pack home environment.
Happy Tails is still a family business including my husband Matt, our pups Emi, Bruce and Alfie, and our cats Penelope and Chuck.
We are now located just outside Bancroft, Ontario, walking distance to beautiful Baptiste Lake. Our retreat caters to dogs with our wooded walking trails, a large fenced play area, pool with sun deck, large recreation room and plenty of space inside for playing on bad weather days.
